About Us

Craig & Robyn Hartley purchased Dalby Moto in April 1984.At that time Dalby Moto was run with 3 people, Craig in spares and sales and 2 technicians with Robyn still working in the bank and doing accounts after hours, the business sold Yamaha & Suzuki. Craig’s bike at purchase was a 1984 KTM495.

In 1986 Dalby Moto procured the Honda franchise and was selling the odd KTM as a subagent.

In 1988 Craig & Robyn moved into the current showroom, and opened a wrecking yard in front of the workshop, in the old showroom. It was interesting to note the first 4 wheelers came into production in 1984, with literally thousands having been sold out of Dalby Moto since.

In 1996, after achieving No 1 Rural Suzuki Dealer in Australia, Suzuki was let go in favour of becoming a KTM dealer.

Dalby Moto has regularly been ranked in the top 6 Yamaha Dealers in Qld & top 10 Honda Dealers in Qld and has won sales trips for both brands to Bali, Japan & America on several occasions.

1996 also saw the level of staff reach a peak of 19, but now is stable at 14 full-time people. Long term staff retention is something Craig & Robyn are proud of, with Parts Manager Laurie Volker having served 15 years, Workshop Foreman Warren Brewer with 14 years, Ross Green as Technician for 12 years, Detailer Michael Mayfield has been temporary & now full-time for 13 years, Naomi Cox in Admin for 8 years, Elwyn Prenzler in Spares 7 yrs, Justin Jansen in Sales 2 years, Grant Hartley in Spares over 1 year , and the balance of apprentices, sales & secretary around 1 year, giving a total of over 110 years experience.

Dalby Moto services the man on the land all over South Queensland, having attended shows & field days like Farmfest & Ag-Show in the past.

Dalby Moto has had a long term involvement with competition & off-road riding since Craig purchased Moto, himself having been riding & racing for 32 years, having only recently in 2003 finished in the Australian Safari in the top 10 on the first Production KTM950LC8S Adventure raced in the World.

Dalby Moto has also been fortunate to have been able to help promote & market the possibly largest Trail Ride Series in the world, and definitely the largest in Australia, with 10 trail rides being held on a monthly basis yearly, from February to November.

Our Dalby Moto Mission Statement is :-

To always serve our clients honestly and to the very best of our ability, and to never have an unsatisfied client in any area of our business.
